Vantage Point Stable was established in 1986 by Craig and Kathi Hummel.  VPS specializes in training American Saddlebreds and Registered Morgan horses. Throughout each day you will find horses being trained and cared for in a wonderful warm atmosphere by top professionals and caretakers. We welcome you to come visit and talk to us about training and/or lessons.

Kathi Hummel is a 3rd generation horse woman who showed her first pony, a Welsh Morgan cross, at the age of 4 in a walk-trot-canter class. Her mother, Jean Bowdle (Bowdler) Rutedge has many generations of ties to the foundation Welsh pony stud farm The Bowdler Stud . Jean was also a prominent breeder alongside her husband, Bob Rutledge, and their famous Serenity breeding is still seen on the bloodlines of many current World Champions, hence Kathi's fascination with Welsh ponies, having grown up riding and showing Welsh Morgan crosses since the age of four, graduating to Morgan horses in her teens. Eight World titles and a couple of Reserve World titles as a junior exhibitor and amateur set the stage for a life's work that evolved to our professional involvement spanning the past thirty years.

Some of Kathi's former students are current World Champion trainers, riders, instructors, Big R judges and equine veterinrians. Kathi will be getting her AMHA judge's licsense renewed this year.

Craig built Vantage Point Stable from the ground up... literally, and is known for his ability with a harness horse in particular.

We are a full service stable whether it be training, breeding, riding and driving lessons, peparation for horse shows, beginner level to World Championship level. We take pride in the long relationships we have enjoyed in the horse business with competitors and our long-standing loyal clients, many of which have stayed with Vantage Point for over 10 years.
